In early 2020, the Koru 1 students at Bromley School in Christchurch, New Zealand started a vegetable garden outside their classroom. It has continued to grow and change since then, with children in the following years working together to build on what others had done and approaches they took to this project. It really is a collaborative growth project in many ways.
To share our project, we have divided it three parts: Grow / Tipu - How we manage our garden from planting to harvest. Innovate / Auaha- Creative ideas and solutions for garden innovations. Connect / Tūhono - Our own recipes using vegetables we have grown for sharing with our community and beyond. With everything that Koru 1 has learned this year about nutrition, wellbeing and the living world, we believe that all people should learn where their food comes from and experience the enjoyment of growing their own. Hear our story through this short film we have created. |
